Browsing the video library

Search, filter, clip, and collect swing dance videos from the community library.

The video library is a community-built collection of swing dance videos. You can search, filter, create clips, and organize everything into personal collections.

What you can do

  • Browse the library by dance style, tag, dancer, organization, or event
  • Search for specific videos by title, dancer name, or tag
  • Add YouTube videos to the library for the community to watch and clip
  • Create timestamped clips from any video to highlight specific moments
  • Save videos and clips to collections and favorites

Adding a video

Go to add a video and paste a YouTube URL. The platform pulls the title, description, and thumbnail automatically. You can tag it with dance styles, mark it as private (visible only to you), and categorize it by type (competition, social, performance, class).

After adding, you can link dancer profiles and organizations to the video so it shows up on their pages.

Clips

Open any video and create a clip by setting a start and end timestamp. Clips are a way to bookmark a specific combination, styling choice, or moment. You can tag clips and favorite them. Other users can see your clips on the video page too.

Collections and favorites

Favorite a video to save it to your personal favorites list. For more organization, create collections (like playlists) and add videos to them. You can access all of this from My Videos.

  • The spotlight video at the top of the library rotates through featured and popular clips.

  • Private videos are only visible to the uploader.
