Swingaround is organized around a sidebar on the left and a dashboard that acts as your home base. Here’s a quick tour of where everything lives.
What you can do
- Jump between the main areas from the sidebar: Home, Inbox, Community, Practice, Events, Competitions, Courses, and Profile
- Search for dancers, events, or communities from the search bar at the top of the sidebar
- Check your dashboard for upcoming events, competition notifications, practice stats, and community activity
- Access organizer tools directly from the dashboard if you manage events or courses
How it works
The sidebar
The left sidebar is your main navigation. Each section expands to show sub-pages.
Community opens to My Communities, Discover, Activity, Organizations, and a link to create a new community.
Practice shows your active session (or a button to start one), your session history, Notes, and your video Library.
Events links to the Swing Festival Calendar and your personal festival list.
Competitions takes you to Browse Results, your own results (if you’ve competed), and a link to host a new competition.
Courses opens Browse Courses and your enrolled or created courses.
The dashboard
Home is your dashboard. It pulls together a getting-started checklist for new accounts, upcoming events you’re attending, your competition entries and results, and a community activity feed. If you’re an organizer, you’ll also see registration counts and course enrollments here. Scroll down past your activity for a discovery section with featured content and upcoming festivals.
Inbox and notifications
The Inbox link in the sidebar shows your direct messages. An unread count badge appears when you have new messages. Competition notifications show up on your dashboard as well.
Good to know
- On mobile, the sidebar collapses into a menu you can toggle open.
- Your profile link in the sidebar takes you to your public dancer profile. From there you can edit your info, view your competition results, and manage your communities.
- Head to Settings to update your email, password, or notification preferences.
- A Circle membership unlocks extra features like custom profile section ordering. Visit the Help Center if you get stuck.
