The Inbox is where you send and receive messages with other dancers on Swingaround. You can have one-on-one conversations or create group threads.
What you can do
- Send a direct message to any dancer from their profile or from your Inbox
- Start a group conversation with multiple people
- Search across your threads by name, message content, or thread title
Starting a conversation
Click New message in your inbox. For a direct message, pick the dancer you want to reach. For a group thread, add multiple people and optionally give the thread a title.
You can also start a direct message from any dancer’s profile page.
Finding messages
Your threads are sorted by most recent activity. Use the search bar at the top of your inbox to find threads by participant name or message content. Matching messages show a preview so you can jump straight to the right conversation.
Unread messages
An unread count badge appears on the Inbox link in the sidebar when you have new messages. Each thread also shows its own unread count, so you can see at a glance which conversations need your attention.
Good to know
- You need a dancer profile to use the inbox. If you haven’t set one up yet, see Setting up your profile.
- You can’t message someone you’ve blocked (or who has blocked you). See Blocking a profile for details.
- Group threads stay open. Anyone in the thread can send messages at any time.
