Following is how you customize what you see on Swingaround. Follow dancers, organizations, and tags to shape your feed, get notified about new content, and stay connected to the parts of the scene you care about.
Following dancers
Visit any dancer’s profile and hit the Follow button. If that dancer has a linked community (their “place”), you’ll automatically be added as a member so you see their posts and updates in your community feed.
Unfollow anytime from the same button. If you were auto-joined to their community, your membership is removed too.
Following organizations
Same idea. Go to any organization’s page in the directory and follow them. If the organization has a linked clubhouse and you have “auto-join organization clubhouses” enabled in Settings, you’ll be added to their community automatically.
Organizations you follow show their events and courses on your dashboard so you don’t miss what they’re up to.
Following tags
Tags organize content across the platform (dance styles, topics, events). Follow a tag and you’ll see personalized sections in the video library with recent videos matching that tag.
Browse and follow tags from any tag page or from video/course listings where tags appear.
Discovery
Beyond follows, Swingaround surfaces content through:
- Your dashboard with upcoming events, community activity, and a discovery section
- The video library spotlight and community-curated clips
- Browse directories for events, courses, organizations, and communities
Good to know
- You can’t follow someone you’ve blocked (or who has blocked you).
- Following is always two-way visible: the person or org can see their follower count, but individual followers aren’t publicly listed.
- Toggle “auto-join organization clubhouses” in Settings to control whether following an org also joins their community.
